San Gorgonio… my very first time summiting the tallest mountain in Southern California at a wild 11,503 feet. I’d never done it before so I was a little nervous. But @wayoutwild_ doesn’t back down from a challenge…and we went all in on the longer route, clocking in just about 20 miles round-trip. That’s thru-hiker mileage!! 🤯 And while I’ve never done a thru-hike (yet), this was proof that I could one day. It lit that fire 🔥 Even though San G is long, the incline is surprisingly gentle, which makes the climb feel steady and doable. I was guiding this one and our girls were pushing through the elevation like champs 💪 I was so IMPRESSED!! The altitude hit hard on the way up, and on the way down, it was a whole different beast… OUR FEET WE’RE DONE. Every single step felt like a mission. But we kept going. We didn’t stop. This was a massive accomplishment. 20 miles in one day isn’t something most people would even consider doing. But we did it. We showed up. We pushed through. And we proved to ourselves that we are strong and fully capable of doing hard things!!! 🙌 By the time we hit the parking lot, some of the girls collapsed to the ground in tears. They were overwhelmed, exhausted, and unbelievably proud. And honestly? They should be!! That mountain gave them everything it had. And they conquered it 🌟
