Thirsty San Gorgonio
Also on this hike
Trail conditions were great, though it was a little hot on the first day. Trail Flats trail camp was nice and quiet, though it was buggy—the bigs didn’t bite, there were just a lot of them, tiny flies and flying termites and the like. No water source there, so I made the ascent to the summit on the second day with very little water, and by the time I got back to Trail Flats, I was out. Never been thirstier in my life. Broke camp and made it down to Lodgepole Springs and drank, drank, drank. After that, the rest of the hike was great. This was the last of the Six-Pack for me, and July 14 marked six weeks since I started the challenge, so that’s six peaks in six weeks!!
