Thin rock, Thick views!

We drove down to Poway early, knowing this is a popular hike and hit the trailhead by 7:30. The weather was perfect. The entire way up to the summit we had overcast skies and mid-60’s temperatures. The hike alternates between flat and uphill sections and at times it is steep so it’s best to go out early, avoid hot days and bring water. You begin going around Poway Lake which makes for some nice water views and soon you are climbing into some bouldery mountain areas. The trail is immaculately groomed and maintained. Once we got to potato chip rock we saw a line of people but only waited about ten minutes before we got our chance for a picture. Mount Woodson is just a bit beyond it, but theres not really a “summit” with signs to hold up and stuff. Its just a bunch of towers. But we found a big boulder with killer views and enjoyed our reward king size candy bar! Great day hiking!
