Did my first solo hike to Potato chip & Mount Woodson.  Started early, was on the trailhead by 7 AM, free parking at Lake Poway as it is a weekday.  Beautiful  morning view of Poway lake, trail was well marked and well maintained. No shade, has may view points along the way.  There was picnic table on the trail where I had my breakfast and continued. Gradual elevation gain. Path had beautiful, colourful blooming flowers. It was not crowded and there were few hikers on the trail.

As I reached the top, there were many people for the photo on the chip.  I did not feel like getting adventurous climbing the rock, so used my selfie stick to click few pictures, enjoyed my favourite Indian masala flavoured potato chips that I had carried, and made my way a little up to Mount Woodson.  Boulders here are very huge. Enjoyed the views and headed back.  On the way down encountered couple of hikers going up. Also saw 2 dogs very tired and thirsty lying by the side of the trail along with the owners. So sad they had not carried enough water.  I had little left with me I and offered it to the dogs. The dog owners mentioned that water was on the way. It was sad scene. The dogs were panting and were unable to move and were just lying down on the ground. It is not a good idea to come with dogs for this hike on a hot day. On the way down, I saw a small vehicle carrying a water container. I was thankful thinking that now dogs will get the water.

Overall I enjoyed my solo hike to Potato chip and Mount Woodson.
