I was not going to hike that day, with an injury from a race only two days before. But then I learned that there was snow on Mt St Helena and it was decided – two hours and four ibuprofens later, I started the hike.
And it was the most beautiful and rewarding hike of 2019 yet! The sky was clear blue, the sun shone,… and the wind was so strong on the top that I was kind of surprised that I didn't get blown off the mountain.
Snow started about halfway up the mountain and covered everything and the sun reflected off it – note to self; bring sunglasses next time.
It was a joyous hike and I couldn't be happier doing anything else that day!

It’s so cool to see so much snow on a hike in the Bay Area! Very pretty.
