So this was the first, and “easiest”, of the So Cal peaks?! I loved it!  Our watches registered just over 14 miles, we did a loop past Sturtevant Falls, a campground and the Sturtevant Resort.  There was a great description of the resort's history. And…then we started the ascent! Resting wasnt much of an option, because if we stopped the bugs were all in our eyes and ears, but thankfully they werent bitng, just bugging! So we kept on trekking up the mountain as quick as we could.  Reaching The Observatory was a chilly relief! We enjoyed refueling with our snacks and refilled our hydration packs.  There was some confusion in finding the return trail, as there werent any signs.  But we were pleased to discover that we guessed the right route around the gate, down a dirt road and then back on the trail for a fun hustle down the mountain. I can't wait to see what else the California Peaks have in store for us!
