We started early to beat the heat. The trial starts off with lush green trees and plants along a narrow creek. This portion has a lot of shade. You can feel the sun in the fire trial. Luckily for us, the sun was not scorching hot as yet. We passed a group of people practicing rock climbing in this area. It was a beautiful day.

When we reached the peak, we were wowed by the views. It was a spectacular panoramic view. We could see snow capped mountains at a distance.

We started our way back down after spending a few moments at the peak. We took our time back enjoying every view the hike has to offer. When we reached the trailhead, we noticed that the parking lot was crowded and realized it was a good idea to start early.

There is no restroom either at the trailhead or the peak. We stopped by Calistoga for coffee and restrooms. It is a beautiful city with amazing cafes.
