Spent the majority of the day on the trail well above the clouds which looked like they covered the majority of SoCal. The views on this trail are awesome. With out a doubt the most scenic mountain trail of the Six Pack of Peaks.
Today was my fifth peak of the Original Six Pack of Peaks Challenge. One to go! 😉
We stepped of on this hike at about 0600 and basically took our time to the summit. Enjoying the views along the way. Temps were cool in the morning. Maybe mid 40's and probably in the mid 50's at the summit. It did get a little warm on the trek down. Low 70's and maybe warmer in exposed areas. I carried 3 liters of water and drank two. The trail is in excellent condition and was very easy to follow. We didn't hit any snow until we were above 9,000′. We cross probably 5 or 6 areas where the snow covered very short sections (about 10 to 15 feet long) of the trail. NO traction devices are necessary for this hike.
