We kept hearing about Cucamonga, so we finally decided to climb it. It has been about a month since our last climb, so we felt a little rusty, but the hike was so beautiful that we didn't mind. The trail is relatively shady, with big bushy pine trees providing shade for most of the way up, especially in the morning. A pleasant stream wistfully flowed by, providing a nice background and an opportunity to cool off, which we did not take. 4,200 vertical feet, and 13 miles total (according to my phone), it will be one of our most memorable hikes and had a great view at the top. The view from the top gave us great panoramic views of Baldy, the Santa Anna Mountains to the south, and the San Bernardinos to the west. I snapped a photo of Ellie pointing to San Bernardino Peak and San Gorgonio, letting them know that we are coming for them next!
