This was definitely a more strenuous hike than what we originally thought it was going to be. AllTrails had it ranked as moderate, but I would definitely classify it as a more strenuous hike. The elevation had us stopped to catch our breath a few times on every switchback.
We started the hike with a group of three of us and a dog and unfortunately the ground was too hot for the dog to continue up the hike. We had one person from our group stay back while myself and one other continued up the hike. Took us about 4 hours roundtrip and the views were beautiful! The trail was pretty much secluded the whole time. We saw less than 10 people the whole hike.
The trail itself was definitely unique with the gravel path the whole trail. I ended up having a minor ankle sprain from the hike. Overall the views were gorgeous, but this was not my favorite trail due to the gravel terrain.
