First time I have ever summited Mt. Tamalpais. Although it was the middle of July, it was very misty. The marine layer was really thick at the top (everywhere for that matter), so no solid aerial views of Stinson beach or the surrounding landmarks, just static oblivion. It was slightly mysterious, wondering what was out in that fog and what was below you.
This is not to say I didn't enjoy the hike, I always like hiking in overcast and rain and it adds to the adventure, and there is a beauty to be found in fog. My favorite parts to this hike were the last mile to the summit, even without the views. The rainforest along the Dipsea trail was some of the best I've ever seen, so the pictures within the hiking log will be reflecting that today.
Did this hike with my sister and fellow 6 packs hiking partner Jenni, and we also dragged our younger brother Mark along, who was a good sport and bought lunch at the end of the hike. Mark, your welcome to hike with us again anytime!
