Usually Wilson + Winter Creek takes me 6-7 hours, with breaks. This trip took us 10. We weren't prepared for the roaring, knee-deep river crossings where it was impossible to stay dry. It was like doing Bridge to Nowhere. And as soon as the river crossings ended past Sturtevant, the snow began. And when the snow ended, the slush began. And at the top, when we should've enjoyed an easy walk across the road to the Winter Creek side to come down, there was black ice. No more post-rain Wilson summits. Never again.
