My second attempt this year hiking up to San Bernardino and this time it was a success! Trail conditions were perfect up until 9,000’ when we ran into patches of ice. Microspikes were sufficient so no need for mountaineering equipment. We started at 6am and weather wise it was really cold and windy. Once we made it to the peak 4 hours later the weather was perfect. We hung out up there for about an hour, ate lunch, and a few of us managed to take a nap. Aside from the wind in the morning, which died down around 12, it was a great day on the trail. Please check the weather the night before you set foot, weather conditions on the mountain could change instantly. The forecasted weather was suppose to have wind gusts of up to 5mph, but it felt more like 20mph. So double check just in case. It was another perfect day for a hike, I felt great and I was accompanied with amazing people. Thanks Lyn, Vanina, and Robert for joining me. I hope you enjoy the photos! Go team Friends That Hike!
