It was a beautiful sunny day for a hike. The temperature was 56 degrees with 64% humidity. We started at 10:15 and finished at 12:56pm. Since there is no place to park near the trailhead we got an extra 3/4 mile in before hitting the trailhead. It took 2hrs 41 mins for a total of 4.67 miles. This is a difficult and very busy trail with a lot of bouldering toward the top. It was good to have on gloves for the rough rock and to have hands free. It is a great reward to see a Christmas tree at the top and the incredible views.
There were so many friendly people on the trails and at the top. We had one unfriendly, rude encounter from an obviously local hiker who reminded us of trail etiquette “Ascenders have the right of way”; understood, but I believe in safety first especially with so many people and such narrow and steep trails.
We met two other Six-Pack of Peaks hikers, from Lake Havasu, on the trail too:)
