Today was pretty steep and full of many different kinds of rocks to walk on and climb over. You started out steep right away but it never gave up. The beauty was so different from our other hikes but being among the trees, rocks, and desert terrain, we were able to see what draws people here weekend after weekend. Getting to the summit was a steep steep climb as altitude differences definitely affect your speed. Coming down Devil's Backbone can be a bit scary with sharp drop offs on both sides but we all survived with some pretty neat photos and a feeling of accomplishment.
