Spend the night before at McDonald’s Gill campground. Rather chilly night, but a good early start. It adds a few miles to start at McGill but it a convenient way to up the challenge a bit. I went as far as Grouse and worked my way back via Sawmill and Pinos. Nice way to train at some elevation without all that much continuous uphill.
