#1 of 6: MT. DIABLO – 6-Peaks 16.8 mile loop (4695′ Altitude)

Decided to commemorate the debut hike of the NorCal 6-Pack Challenge with a special Diablo “Six Peak Loop” (16.8 miles and 4,695 Elevation Gain):   Mt. Olympia, North Peak, Mt. Diablo summit, Eagle Peak, Twin Peaks and Mitchell Rock.   8:15am – 6pm.  7.75 hours moving time.   Treked with 13 compadres (Great Hikes Plus One – meetup.com), followed up by some well-deserved suds and sandwiches at Ed’s Mudville Grille in nearby Clayton, CA.   Two days later, and I’m still a little sore.   Next up:  #2 of 6 – Mt. St. Helena (weather permitting) next weekend, during wife Patty’s birthday weekend in Napa.
