#10. San Bernardino Peak
I started my ascent to San Bernardino Peak shortly before sunrise and encountered almost no one the entire day. I enjoyed a leisurely climb up the initial switchbacks until reaching a relatively flat section through a burn area and lots of manzanita. Although fire damage is still very prevalent, it was nice to see the landscape coming back to life; nature is so resilient! I recommend long pants for this hike, as some sections are overgrown and can scratch your legs. Otherwise, the trail was in great condition and easy to follow. The views from the peak were gorgeous, but I honestly think the best views from the mountain come from the little stone bench a mile or two below the summit.
