Granite Mountain is the “lightest” hike in the Arizona Six Pack of Peaks Challenge, but that’s no reason to underestimate it. This trail offers pretty technical terrain and intense scrambling for those willing to search for it, and showcases a variable ecosystem of pine forests, windswept grasslands, and the titular granite rock formations that define many of Prescott’s landscapes.

Shoutout to @Erin.Engelmann and @MStan7171, who shared some time out of the morning of their first anniversary to summit the mountain in their backyard with me!

@AZ.SixPackOfPeaks #4 out of 6!
