4pm in a heat wave? Time for Mission Peak

What an incredibly dull hike! Dusty, sunny, no shade and hot. I went up the recommended route, but was so bored by the top I figured I’d go down the back way. Bad choice. Equally boring and steep, but with a very rutted and overgrown trail. All this is to say that I don’t anticipate doing this hike again. The views are neat and the sighting tubes on the peak are pretty fun. The area looks like it will be lovely in the spring- I think I’ll try some other hikes nearby when it’s green, but I think Mission was a one and done. Either way, that was peak six, so the deed is done. Amen.
