Yesterday was about taking on new challenges with new friends. Together we summited Humphrey’s Peak, the tallest mountain in Arizona and to date the highest peak I’ve ever summited with my own two feet.

On the way up I reflected on the fact that even just a year ago, the idea of summiting Humphrey’s would’ve been impossible for me. A hiking challenge I signed up for last winter: the AZ Bootleg 100, is what really got me serious about strenuous outdoorsmanship, and turned summit hiking from a hassle into something I actively sought out. Weirdly enough, on the way down I ran into @MagsExplores and @Nolan_Sheahan, two friends I met while doing the AZ Bootleg who coordinate the challenge.

I’ve officially completed the @Arizona.SixPackOfPeaks. Six summits down, a lifetime of mountains to go!
