Not having to drive the 90 minutes to the trailhead because my family and I spent the night in our favorite town of Idyllwild was so sweet???? Staying in hiking shape year round for challenging peak is a game changer. The weather was cool and trail was quiet being a weekday hike and the trail conditions were great.
