A 3 hour tour
Also on this hike
My friends and I started on what seemed like a simple adventure in the woods. We downloaded our Maps that we were prepared? Little did we know. lol
We ended up inadvertently hiking just about 13 miles. The hike path originally chose should’ve been roughly 7 miles at best. We were super excited for this as it was our first six pack mountain for 2025. This was the first time my friend Diana was hiking Greylock so she was super excited.
somewhere along the way we took a wrong turn and unfortunately did not realize it because the signs on the trees said Greylock in them with arrows. When I looked at all trails? It looked weird and I thought I was just having service issues.
long story short we got a trip around Greylock and ended up using the road to the summit to get back to where we needed to be. we took part of the road back down to Cheshire Harbor and took Cheshire Harbor all the way back down to our car.
we did get to see beautiful views that I have not seen before from that mountain. This is the fourth time I’ve hiked this mountain. I normally take the same trail all the way, so even though it did take us miles out of the way we got to see things I haven’t seen before. There was ice covered rocks everywhere the road was ice, but it was covered in snow so it was manageable in most areas. The view from the road from some of the pull over parking lots that we saw were just stunning.
Overall we learned some lessons and we still have plenty of time to get back down and no one was injured so we took all of this to move forward with all of our future mountains.
