A gorgeous day hiking Mt. Wilson

Despite just how hard this hike is, I kind of love it.

For one, I always meet really friendly folks. This time around, it was Desmond, who told us about how he used to hike Mt. Wilson twice in a row (double summit for training, WOW), or Jared, who was very grateful when I gave him my headlamp, or the hiker we met at Orchard Camp who was training for a big hike in Argentina (another WOW).

Secondly, it’s just so gorgeous.

Third, it’s cool to start a hike at the ground, and then later brag to your friends, “I climbed that mountain. Whole thing!”

I don’t know if I’d have tried Mt. Wilson as soon as I did without this challenge.
