A Rosey Night

Definitely not an easy hike!  Started at 745am and ended just before 8pm. Yup!  That means the last three hours were done in the dark!????

The day started with us being greeted by at least 30 turkeys in the parking lot along with about a dozen deer.  Saw lots of other birds throughout the hike, even a bunch of quail we startled out of a tree after dark, but didn’t really see any other wildlife until night time, when we saw a couple of newts on the trails and a pair of eyes shining green in my headlamp’s beam.  Looked it up, cats, dogs and raccoon’s eyes reflect green, so I’ll just say it was a raccoon!????

We took about a 30 minutes break up on Rose Peak, signed the logs (found my signature from 4/12/22!????) and then made our way back.

This was my 8th Bay Area Peak, just missing Berryessa, which I’m hoping to claim on Christmas!
