ALL Day Rose Peak

We started before daylight from outside of Sunol Park and finished after dark. Since the park gates don’t open until 8am we parked outside of the park and hiked in. A long day with 5000+ feet of elevation but the weather was perfect! The sun created long shadows of us over the greening hillsides. Breezy and cool but really, quite perfect hiking weather and we were ready for the bit of cold. Trails were muddy at some points and many cows to navigate but we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day. Saw a bobcat in the distance and two coyotes. Many birds. Lots of evidence of wild boar but we didn’t actually see any boar. This was our last peak for 2025 and it was exhilarating to finish-up!
