I was unsure how the red rock permit/ park hours  procedure was, so I opted for an alternate route starting  at a nearby trailhead.
It got a little warm today, the altitude is much less than that of the spring mountain in mt Charleston. Very nice scenery including sandstone and narrow canyons.
