April Fools Flatiron (is no joke!!)

Flatiron is everything you have heard and more. Truly challenging, breathtaking and inspiring! We took on the hike, starting out about 8AM, and already the parking lot was nearly full.  It was a perfect day with most of our time spent on the way up under light cloud cover. It warmed up some on the way down, but the weather was pleasant the entire trip. We caught a glimpse of Flatiron Jim when we arrived at the top, had a snack and were entertained by chipmunks. There were a lot of people on the trail but literally everyone we encountered was happy and courteous. Coming down was tough on my old knees and Flatiron convinced me that it’s time to invest in hiking poles- completely worth the pain though and I’d do it again! It was about a 5 hour trip in total for us with plenty time spent exploring at the top.
