Last stretch of “mini switchbacks” covered in snow. Had to go off trail a few times but overall not too bad.
Was it impacted by snow, the whole trail? Or only some areas? Did you take crampons?
Most of the trail was free of snow. When it transitions from the longer switchbacks to the shorter ones (like the last 18 switchbacks) it becomes very dense with snow. We didn’t have our poles or spikes and did ok, though it might have been easier with one or the other. You can avoid some of it by cutting the trail (I know, sounds taboo) but there was paint on some of the trees to help guide you through the trail cutting so I didn’t feel as bad. I suspect another week or so and it will be snow free.
