How do you deal with triple digit July temperatures? By climbing Mount Shasta, of course!

We started at 5am, which was at least an hour later than we wanted to, but it wasn’t too bad. Very dry and rocky till you get to about 9400ft, then it’s time to put those crampons on! We planned on trying for the summit. Conditions were great, albeit a little warmer than I’d like, but my stomach started feeling bad on the way up, so we turned back after spending some time at Helen Lake. At least sliding down from there was lots of fun!
