Bald in the Rain

This was our first of the 6pack, which we hiked as a stop between Atlanta and Columbia on our Highpoints & National Parks road trip. We were surprised at just how dense the forest is, which leads to limited views of the surrounding area on the way up. We parked off the road at Jacks Gap and made it to the concessionaire just before the rain started. Finished the ascent to the top before the sky really opened up, but didn’t get to go up the observation deck due to lightning! Hike down in the rain was pretty uneventful.
