baldy revisited :)

my goal this year, my 2nd doing the SoCal 6 pack, was to do al new peaks. unfortunately, covid, life, and weather/fire conspired to make this nearly impossible.   so i went for difficult at least.  baldy, for the 2nd time was almost as challenging as the first time. however, i will say that knowing what i was in for helped a little mentally. (and not forgetting the cord for my cell phone pack made a huge difference because i didn’t lose my music or camera for the descent.)  i did baldy bowl/ski hut both up and back this time. i don’t think i’ll do that again. i found the fire road (down) boring last time and that’s why i out-and-backed…. BUT i almost fell off the mountain twice on the way back down bowl because of fatigue and scree.  note to self. no. 😉
