The area has received a bit of rain recently so the trail was not as dusty as it can be later in the season. The parking area was mostly full when we arrived at 1000. We encountered many hikers on their way down and had the viewpoint platform to ourselves:-). The surrounding peaks are still very much snow-covered making for beautiful views from Mt. Adams to Mt. Bachelor.
