A beautiful day for a hike.  McKenzie Highway is still open and the road is in good shape (it closes 11/9 or earlier if the snow flies).  Only 4 cars in the parking lot when we arrived.  The trail spends time in the old burn before climbing through the forest then across the volcanic remnants.  Views in all directions!  May try to get up there one more time this season:-)
