Beautiful Mt. Wilson

Arrived at Chantry Flat at 5:30 AM and already cars in the lot. Made it to the waterfall by dawn and it was roaring. Continued over a peaceful 3 miles to Sturtevant camp where we met the camp host Adam. Cool guy who sat and chatted with us as we snacked and topped our water off. He said you can book and stay out there which seems really neat and something I plan to do with the kids. Made our way to the top of Mt Wilson which was grueling and hot. Cosmic café was open, so we ate our MRE’s and the kids got popsicles. What a treat! Refilled our water sit down and got ready for the hike back. Long windy path back was pretty exposed, but there was some shade. We ran into a snake crossing the path about a mile and a half from the parking lot. All in all it is a great hike but gets hot as the day goes on.
