The 40 switchbacks sounded terrible at first but were surprisingly a breeze. This trail is by far my favorite, for the summer. Beautiful foliage and so much coverage, until the final mile stretch. Near the summit rockier terrain and patchy shade. Gorgeous views and photo ops. Started the climb @6:30. 2 lots available yet fill up quickly. This day gave us a taste of the approaching fall season. Nice cool and fresh morning before sunrise. A bit muggy with viable sun in the early AM and some bugs. All accompanied by the best breeze throughout the trail. Many trail runners present, inspired me to run this next time.
