Started at 8:40 am with marine layer and cool weather.  Creek crossings were easy and many flowers in bloom made for an enjoyable hike.  Trail scramble to the top was steep with loose gravel/dirt.  Poles were helpful.  We circled back down to the Tequipis Trail via the fire road.  Didn’t want to take the chance of slipping down on the trail.  Marine layer cleared and we had beautiful views of Lake Cachuma.  Watch for poison oak.  It was crowding the trail in some places.  Overall, one of my favorite trails so far!
