Black Beauty

Sort of a maze of fire roads to reach trailhead.  Really beautiful views but top 1/3 or so is a combo of loose scree and smaller rocks you sort of have to step on/between.  Fantastic views of Shasta.  Very windy on top and a little sketchy shimmying to the “bunker” on the very top.  Phenomal views in every direction – including back toward Mt Eddy which I hiked earlier in the day.  Would have loved to stay for actual sunset but glad I didnt try to come down with poor light.  Again – trail very loose throughout the higher section.  Honestly, despite killer views, probably would not hike it again given poor footing.
