Black Crater in July

This was a great day for a hike! I only ran into two other people while on Black Crater. It was like we had the whole place to ourselves. Towards the top there were a couple of snowfields to cross. I was too lazy to take my poles out, so I had a couple of quick falls. Once I got to the top I was pleased to see clear blue skies that weren’t filled with wildfire smoke like the previous year. The view of North Sister was incredible! The trail was difficult to find in a few places on the way down because of the snowfields, but I found my way and enjoyed another great solo hike!
