Black Mountain Mega Loop

Total length: ~18 miles, ~3200 ft elevation gain.

Arrived at the preserve at 8:05, despite google telling me the opening time was 8:00 the parking lot was full. Ended up parking near Cristo Rey and Kring and hiked in. Took the Rancho Ridge loop trail up through some fog and light rain, then turned off onto the quarry trail. Quarry trail connects with the Black Mountain trail, which I turned left on and took to the summit (278 ft.’). Took the Black Mountain trail back down all the way to the Chamise Trail, which I took to complete the Rancho Ridge loop back at Rancho San Antonio.
