BOGO – Two for One! Crag’s Trail to Castle Dome and Black Butte!!

A group of us make the long weekend trek up to the Mount Shasta area and decided to knock out these two trails – Castle Dome and Black Butte.

The roads in, esp if you follow google maps, can be rough on a 2×4.  There is an alternative route than that outlined in google maps for the drive in, but still would recommend a 4×4.

No snow, weather conditions were warm but chilly on the wind side of the mountain.  Very rocky conditions, not great for hiking poles, but views at the top are phenomenal.   Castle Dome was much more technical than Black Butte and, I thought, more difficult.
