Please be careful driving the last 2 miles to the trailhead on Camp Bonanza Rd!!!! This was not a “gravel” road. It was pretty much a rocky road! I would not take a car back there. I drive a 2wd Jeep Cherokee and I had “white knuckles”. Took about 15 minutes to drive those 2 miles because I was nervous about my vehicle/tires. There is parking to walk to trailhead if you prefer. This was a gorgeous hike. I started around 6am. The east side of the mountain where the hike starts is pretty sunny. The temperature was not to bad at that time. Once I crossed to the west side of the mountain I was in almost all shade and with the wind blowing it was a little chilly. The trail is easy to follow. Be mindful at about .5-1 mile before summit there is a false peak. I had to check Google maps because the trail was more difficult to read in that area.
