I have done Baldy a number of times. Had not done Harwood before so we added it on. Beautiful hike, heat was not bad and the clouds were particularly wonderful today. The 76 year old and I made it up this hill just a little slower. On the way down, we passed about 50 high school kids that looked beat. Apparently Downy High coaches are taking their kids to hike Whitney and today was their training hike up baldy. Awesome hike.

Thank you for the link. I think did see that on either the news or posted on one of the hiking sites. It blew up on all the hiking pages I am on. I am so glad that this ended well. It wrecked that hike. I usually come off the peak with my hikers high (life is wonderful) and I worried and watched the news. .
