Bucket List Peak – Hiking Piestawa Peak for the first time!!!

So glad I finally hiked Piestawa! As a Native Arizonan, it’s hard to believe that it took me so long to finally do it. This was definitely more of a challenge than I originally thought. The stair-stepping action really burned the thighs, but the views from the top were amazing.

Definitely a crowded day to hike as the Phoenix 7 Summit Challenge was going on too. Several parts of the trail were pretty slow going with all the hikers out today….. Had a couple encounters with “trail runners” running through people and into me.

Other than the couple close calls with not-so-courteous trail runners, I had a great time and lots of pleasant interactions with other hikers. Glad to finally hike Piestawa and glad to officially start the Arizona Winter Six-Pack of Peaks Challenge.
