Can we all agree that Sawmill Mountain is the easiest?

Can we also agree it’s one of the prettiest? The alpine terrain is outstanding; worth the 1.5 hour drive from LA up the Grapevine.

Even on a heat-wave day in LA, my friend and I experienced a maximum of around 75 degrees Fahrenheit on this hike. It’s hard to believe it was covered in snow a few months ago, as it’s completely summery now, covered in a carpet of wildflowers such as the stunning snow flower.

3.5 hours of moderate-difficulty hiking (mostly due to the warmth and the altitude). Back to the car in time for lunch!

Note: As of this hike, I’m officially done with the Six Pack, so I’m halfway through all 12 peaks!
