Castle Crags

$8 state park fee. Parking lot is small so get there early. The trail is steep and hardly ever gives you a break. Goes from steep forest switchbacks to big steps over granite rocks. Up at the top is one of our favorite hike features, a large open area for everyone to find a spot and relax. It’s fun to explore and find new views. For an extra challenge, you can scale up castle dome and be on top of it all.
