Hiked with a group

Four of us drove down from SoCal together and started our hike at 10am. It was a beautiful day and didn’t get too hot. The hike starts out gradually but then there is a steep section over rocky boulders which takes some effort but is doable for most hikers. We saw one rattlesnake there, but it was just passing through ahead of us and kept going without even rattling. We had our packed lunch at the peak and had a nice view, albeit a bit hazy at the coast. It got warmer in the descent and the gnats were mainly bothersome when we hit the shady areas near the creek at the end.

Overall, I would rate this hike as strenuous.
