Chocorua Heat Wave

Stepped off from the Piper Trailhead on Route 16 in Albany, NH.  Trail conditions were good, but the bugs were out in full force!! Once we got above tree line the 90 degree heat made the last 1.4 miles to the summit a real challenge. On the way down we took the Liberty Trail to Weepoo, and Hammond, before linking back up with the Piper Trail which took us back to the trailhead. The loop took us 4h57m at an average pace with a small rest break at the summit. Overall we were blessed with clear skies and great weather that made for a memorable hike…On to the next adventure!
