Bring water and extra snacks
The trail has some areas with a lot of gravel, hiking poles help a lot.
Bring a wild flower guide and try to ID the flower. There are so many it is nice to take some time and enjoy.
Not a bad way to spend a Saturday – beautiful clear skies allowed us to have clear vistas in any direction, while the tree cover provided much needed shade for the long trek.
