Conquering the Devil

Mt Diablo by the numbers: 15.5miles, 9.5 hrs, 4000.

Grueling day in the summer heat! Temperatures climbed to the mid-90’s and there was very little shade to be found. But we plodded along. This trail is relentlessly steep.

Gorgeous 360 degree views from the top. We could see the mothball fleet, Sales Force tower and other high rises in SF, and Mt Umunhum in the distance. Make sure to pick up an ice cream sandwich at the gift shop and go into the building to stand on the true peak.
